AFOA Canada offers two professional designations to meet the needs of Aboriginal communities across Canada. For more information on these programs, click on one of the links below.

Local not-for-profit, Central Coast Primary Care, has announced that it is establishing a Scholarship Program for Aboriginal students. The program will provide support to the Central Coast Aboriginal community and aims to improve diversity of the local community services workforce through the creation and ongoing commitment to Aboriginal. The Aboriginal Tertiary Scholarship Program aims to support Victorian Aboriginal students in completing their studies. Recipients of the scholarship receive a fortnightly study allowance to undertake full-time. Scholarship name Apply by Apply; Unfortunately there are no scholarships that support your criteria. High-achieving students, commencing study in 2021, who are expecting to receive, or have received, an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) 95.50 or above (equivalent above OP 3 or above IB 37).   • A CAFM is a Certified Aboriginal Financial Management professional whose skills and knowledge are based and tested against professional standards:
    1)Competency Standards;
    2) Standards of Ethical Conduct; and
    3) Certification Standards.
  • A CAFM is an outstanding financial manager who provides leadership and valuable advice on financial and management operations.
  • A CAFM sets the standard for his/her profession – they raise the bar in professionalism.
  • A CAFM forms the backbone of Aboriginal government administration
  • CAFMs are key decision-makers and leaders in their organizations/communities.

This 18 day Program is delivered in six three-day sessions. Being assigned to one CAPA group for the Program, participants will have the opportunity to engage in interactive and participatory sessions with others working in similar environments.
