- Scholarships are awarded by the partner schools, not by the Foundation. Scholarship terms vary, so please check with the schools in which you are interested for more details on how to apply and what the benefits of the award are at that college or university. Students are not able to apply directly to the Strive Foundation for a scholarship.
ScholarSHPE provides opportunities for:
A scholarship designed to help first-generation college students pursue their passions.
- Graduating high school seniors beginning a STEM undergraduate career at a community college or 4-year university.
- Undergraduate students pursuing a degree in STEM at any stage of their undergraduate career. Students must be enrolled full-time at a community college or 4-year university.
- Students or professionals pursuing technical certificates or graduate-level professional education that increase their professional competencies with select institutions.
- Graduate students pursuing a master's or doctoral STEM degree program at an accredited university.

Scholarship Requirements
- Active Member of SHPE
- Pursuing a STEM degree or professional certificate at a qualifying institution. All degree programs must be in the U.S. or Puerto Rico.
- Minimum 2.75 GPA

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Albert 'Al' D. Diaz is a vice president in the Sales and Marketing Group and the general manager of Technical and Sales Enablement at Intel Corporation. He oversees the organization responsible for scaling products and technologies as well as capabilities critical to the future success of the Intel Data Center business. Diaz has a master’s degree in manufacturing systems engineering from Lehigh University; a master’s degree in sociology from Pennsylvania State University; and a bachelor’s degree in sociology and social psychology from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

According to the Pew Research Center, lack of financial resources is the number one reason why Hispanics don’t complete their STEM degree. SHPE is only able to award scholarships to 25 percent of the students who apply. Let’s all work together to help more members.SHPE’s goal is to raise $1,000,000 by the end of June 2021 so that we can provide scholarships for an unprecedented number of scholars. Supporting Documents
As part of your application, you must upload a current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
High school seniors or students who have completed less than one full term of postsecondary education, submit your high school transcript. If applicable, provide your SAT/ACT scores if they are not included on your transcript. (A clear explanation of the high school’s grading scale must also be submitted.)
Students currently or previously enrolled in college or vocational-technical school, submit your college or vo-tech transcripts from each school attended.
Each scholarship program has its own criteria and eligibility requirements. You may be asked to provide additional documents later in the application process. See details here to determine if additional documents will be required.
